BOOT SNEAK PEAK

We actually recently received one of our first rounds of boot shipments, but NOT just any boots! It's Old Gringo boots. The brand Old Gringo, for those of you who don't know, is a fabulous cowboy boot line that we recently picked up at our last visit to the Dallas Market.

Volatile Gives Back

Not only is Volatile a great footwear line, and one of Shoefits best sellers, Volatile shines when it comes to the kind works of charity. One organization in which Volatile is connected with is the Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans, LA, and surrounding areas. Volatile has actually been reaching out to the organization since 2007. The Volatile company has embraced this organization by designing a Fleur De Lis collection, in which $1.00 is donated to the Habitat for Humanity in our area for each shoe purchased in the Fleur De Lis collection. The money goes towards helping build houses in the areas devestated by the hurricanes. With that in mind, the Volatile owners and designers decided to take a trip down south to check out the Volatile retailers representing the Fleur De Lis collection. On April 22, the Volatile crew made it to Shoefits located in Houma, LA. As Michael Lovely, Brian Lovely, and Ed Olvera visited with Jodi and Shanna, owners of Shoefits in Houma and Lafayette, they were informed that Shoefits is one of the top 5 Volatile accounts in the south, and their contribution to the Fleur de Lis collection has been a great percentage of the donations to be made to the NOAHH (New Orleans Habitat for Humanity). Owner, Jodi Webb stated, "I am just so excited that as a company we can find ways to give back to the community. We love Volatile, and so do our customers. We couldn't have made it this far without our customers, and I hope they realize how grateful we are!"

TAKING A CLOSER LOOK

On Monday, April 26th, Volatile Footwear presented NOAHH with a check for $23,000 from the sale of the Fleur de Lis collection. This donation brings the total donated from sales of the Fleur de Lis collection to just over $40,000. "We are overwhelmed at the generosity of Volatile and their consumers," stated Jim Pate, Executive Director of NOAHH. "These funds will go towards the building of a home for one of our partner families - truly a home that sandals built." "The people of Louisiana and Mississippi have embraced the Volatile shoe collection, especially our sandals. We wanted to do something to give back to the community," states Brian Lovely, Vice president of Product Development at Palos Verdes Footwear. "The Fleur de Lis is one of the most recognized symbols in the world. This hails back from French King Louis XIV and symbolizes the French influence of New Orleans.

The symbol represents life, light and perfection. To me the symbol now represents the re-birth of the Gulf Coast affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita . We especially want to dedicate this to all our customers who are big fans of our brand."

The initial collection began selling in September 2007 and consisted of Volatile sandals featuring the Fleur de Lis symbol. "Existing shoe store and boutiques that carry the Volatile brand jumped on the collection before we even announced that we were teaming up with New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. We sold out our first two deliveries in less than a week", Michael Lovely, Vice President of Volatile Sales, stated.

"We believe that the proceeds of our shoe sales will help breathe some new life into New Orleans. We plan now to let the rest of the world know about it as well," said Brian Lovely. "We hope that funds raised through the sale of the Volatile Fleur de Lis collection will help New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity."

SUMMER SANDALS

SUMMER IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER,
AND WE ARE READY FOR THE BEACH!

Ladies! I can't even begin to describe to you how CUTE the sandals are this season! As I sit here seeing all these amazing styles coming through the door I'm being completely inspired to jump into my summer attire in a whole new way. I don't know about you, but I always dress from my shoes on up. With that in mind, the shoes this season are aimed towards a very natural, earthy, beaded, yet at the same time colorful and super trendy look. How can all of these characteristics be in one shoe? EASY! Or at least it's easy to acheive this look when it comes to one of our newer lines called SKEMO! Skemo is the perfect happy medium type of style, it's very calm, very natural, however it's expressed with beads, rhinestones, and color...which totally adds just the right amount of pizazz to the shoes. I must say these are some very easy sandals to accessorize and dress up with. You can take this shoe to a very cute, simple, and casual level that works for many different events...from the beach to dinner. Like I said, the perfect HAPPY MEDIUM shoe!

Finally, it starts to feel like SPRING!

Which to me, is perfect timing considering we have been getting in the hottest footwear for this season! We've been receiving new Volatile's on a weekly basis, and we know how much you LOVE Volatile! The trends this year are amazing, and are selling fast. Therefore, if you're a Volatile fan don't hesitate to get your hands on all the styles you love! FALL 2010

We just got back from buying Fall 2010! YES, we do it this early! However, it does help our buying decisions, knowing what sold in Fall 2009. I'd like to keep the anticipation here, however I'll give you a little hint for Fall 2010 by letting you know that the big trends this upcoming Fall season will be riding boots and of course cowboy boots!!! They will begin arriving early August, therefore watch out for those e-mails and get in quick to make sure you have the hottest boots of the Fall season!!!!

FALL REVIEW

Hey Ladies!
So, it's January and that means the end of the Fall footwear season is here. I know technically its still winter, and just recently got cold in our neck of the woods, but in the footwear buying industry the "Season" starts (and ends) months before the weather does. So when you saw sweaters and boots in the stores while it was still hot in August you may have been tempted to wait to buy those boots you loved...next season don't make that mistake. If you wait until December or January you'll only find whats left over. We have had so many customers come in lately because it's finally gotten cold here, and they are in a panic to find the perfect boot. For the lucky, they will find a boot in their size AND get it on sale, but most will feel like they missed the boat and have to settle. I know this because I recently had a baby and could not fit into my coat from last season. Needless to say, I had to make an emergency trip to the coat department for a size I dare not mention...and ended up having to buy the ugliest coat. That's what happens when you wait until the end of a season to buy what you need. But there is hope for you fashionistas out there with cold feet! Here at Shoefits we were lucky enough to find a new brand called ZIGI NY. They have just shipped us a few of their Spring boots.

Did I say "Spring Boots" ?....Yes I did! The industry is having a love affair with boots. They are showing short boots for Spring. The trend is to wear these ankle height boots now with your skinny jeans and tights and then transition them into your early spring wardrobe by wearing them with dresses layered with light sweaters or linen scarfs.

But lets say you are one of those ladies who love to show of those toes.... rev up your pedicures because the Spring 2010 footwear season is just starting.

It's all about new beginnings for "The Biggest Loser: Season 8's", Abby Rike. After experiencing complete tragedy through the loss of her husband, 5 1/2 year old daughter, and 2 1/2 week old son she decided to relocate from her hometown, Mabank, Texas to Houma, Louisiana. This move was only the first step to what would soon grow into a journey that would not only dramatically change Abby's life, but a journey that would change the lives of millions of people who have become inspired by her story on national television's "The Biggest Loser: Season 8".
As Abby was sent home from the ranch, she back into the world continuously striving to reach her goal.
